It’s really amazing when you think about how far technology has brought us into the future. But what’s more mind blowing is to discover how great technology’s influence really is in our lives. Dependence has burrowed deep into our system and now, it seems that we are overruled by the tendency to rely on fancy equipments for the completion of our daily tasks. It was only sometime ago when people were able to get on with their routines without the help of laptops and personal digital assistants. Now, these nifty contraptions not only have dominated the hectic and demanding lives of adults but the simple and unadulterated world of children too.

Mobile phones have simplified the process of communication, there’s no doubt about that. Its handy size allows it to be an effective medium for correspondence. People can call other people anywhere they are through phones. And if there are signal or hearing problems, text messaging makes the exchange of ideas faster and clearer. Some smart phones allow web browsing and the use of multiple applications, which eases research and the completion of work, as well as recreation during idle times.

However, the expediency provided by mobile phones seem to have distorted the way people interact with each other in this modern age. Teenagers nowadays have allowed friendship and courtship to ensue through SMS when it should not be so. Even grown-ups use it as a means to escape actual conversations with their relatives and spouses. Some even break up with their partners through the phone. In these circumstances, it becomes apparent how mobile phones are also widening the gap between people.

Now in addition, several illnesses have been attributed to prolonged cell phone use; one of which is brain cancer. Though there has been no sufficient evidence to back this up, it still raises some concern, especially since there are more than a million people who use these gadgets everyday.

Regardless, with mobile phones, the good simply outweighs the bad. And the indefinite accusations brought up are merely suggestions people can set aside for future consideration. The benefits gained from mobile phone use are just too much to relinquish for the sake of social reformatting. So while most consumers are still finding relevance in these gadgets, and more fields consider them purposeful; the mobile phone industry is only set to grow powerful in the coming years.

So at the very least, aside from choosing the right mobile phone for our personal use, we should also discern correctly on whether it is necessary to utilize for particular occassions and dispositions.
